Alexanderplatz is a large square and transportation hub in the central Mitte district of Berlin. In the past it was the centre of East Berlin. Nowadays many thousands of passengers and shoppers come daily to Alexanderplatz. On the square are several large department stores (Galeria shopping centre) and many smaller shops. The fountain on the square is a popular spot to sit down and have a rest.

Television tower

The television tower is 3 minutes walking from the Alexanderplat. It’s one of the tallest buildings in Europe (368m). A limited number of visitors is allowed on top of the tower. If you don’t want to wait you should buy a ticket in advance on the internet.
